Aamir is the founding member and chief coordinator of FAMS; he is involved in other charity work such as annual ‘Heart Health Check’ for his local community. He is our celebrity doctor making regular appearances on Hidayat channel and DM digital TV and hosts regular shows on Asian Sound Radio.
Dr. Arshad Javed
Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon, Blackpool Victoria Hospital
Arshad was born in Peshawar, Pakistan and graduated from Khyber Medical College in 1985. He is one of the founding members of FAMS and has been involved with the charity over the last 5 years. He is very committed to FAMS evolving into a bigger organisation.
Dr. Huma Ghauri
GP & GP Trainer, Ailsa Craig Medical Practice, Manchester
Huma lives with her family in Altrincham where she also runs a private cosmetic clinic. She enjoys travelling and supporting Manchester United. Huma is also involved in fundraising for other charities including Wateraid and sponsoring orphans.
Dr. Bushera Choudry
GP, Walkden Medical Centre, Manchester
Bushera is a GP in Manchester; she has a keen interest in education and also teaches at Manchester Medical School. She has been fortunate enough to work with the charities Doctors Worldwide & KIRF, where she worked on projects providing healthcare to deprived communities in Kenya and Kashmir. She also enjoys travelling and is a very active fundraiser for other charities. She completed the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride; a gruelling 60 miles raising money for The Christie Cancer Hospital and then went on to complete the Shine Marathon in London later in the same year!
Dr. Lalarukh Khan
GP & GP appraiser, North Wales
Lala single handedly set up her practice in North Wales, her practice was a runner up in the national practice of the year competition. She has also been nominated GP of the year by her patients. She lives in Chester with her family and enjoys socialising and travelling. She is actively involved in fundraising for Nightingale House Hospice; she did a daring solo skydive and bungee jump to fund raise for the hospice.
Mr Shakeel Puri
Consultant Opthalmic Optometrist, Midlands
Mr M Shakeel Puri is a consultant Opthalmic Optometrist based in Midlands. He also is the Principal and the clinical director. Mr Shakeel has been a government and education authority appointed governor to help develop procedures for the struggling organisations. He brings into FAMS not only tremendous passion to help the poor medical students in Pakistan but also a wealth of experience in ways to boost the performance of charities.
He lives in Midlands with his wife and daughters and loves playing badminton.
Imran Chohan is a local businessman in Manchester. He has been a keen supporter of different charitable work locally and internationally and has personally made great contributions in raising funds for different charities. Imran has passion for helping the communities in need of help. He intends to take FAMS to the next level with his experience of working with other charities.
He lives in Manchester with his family.
